Why use a heat transfer fluid in industrial laundry facilities?
In industrial laundry equipment, fluid-based heat transfer systems are usually employed to transport heat, for example when operating flatwork irons. In this context, thermal fluid systems are preferable to traditional steam-based systems, in that they easily heat up to 230° C compared with the 180° C of steam-based systems. Moreover, fluid-based flatiron systems operate at a pressure that is approximately 85 times inferior to that required by steam-based systems. Fluid-based systems are therefore preferable, because they reduce health and safety hazards for operators.

Finally, thermal fluid systems reduce common issues in the laundry industry that would be amplified with a steam-based system, such as corrosion, condensate return and steam trap maintenance.

About Quickpetro® NF

Made from severely hydro treated synthesised hydrocarbon base stocks, Quickpetro^® Non-Fouling has outstanding thermal and oxidation stability allowing operation at high temperatures for extended periods. It is non-hazardous, non-toxic, water white and odourless. This heat transfer fluid has high flash/fire points and provides extra resistance to sludging.

Additionally, it is non-hazardous, non-toxic, water white and odourless, which makes it ideal for industrial laundry applications. Quickpetro® MXT is a high-performance heat transfer fluid that operates at temperatures between -7° and 30°. It contains a blend of highly resilient additives that make it resistant to sludging, ensuring long-lasting service, if properly managed.
